Companies of young men going
out together, the best way to go.
They may make a fortune in the
course of a two or 3 years – &
come home & be good citizens –
but – more likely some will die –
some prove treacherous – may all be
ship-wrecked with their fortunes – if
they get back 1/2 well it will be
all one could expect – & probably
the history of most who came back
would prove a wretched one.

The only thing that promises
well is a Colony of good people
to settle in the region – & go to build
a town, cultivate &c. [etc.] ~
