for so small a matter ~

(b) At the worst sin is bad –
but may be easily overlooked
by one whom it does not harm ~

1. Either man or God is
worthy of condemnation – on
one or the other rests the blame
of all this sin & evil —

2. It only aggravates his
guilt – & brings a stigma
on his soul – for man to deny
his guilt, &, charge injustice
on his Gods [God's] character.
