If then matter was not eternal – if
naught else was eternal – that
we see – There must have
been some other cause for
what we see – & that can be
no other than the Self-existent God –
the First Cause of all things.

II By Him all things
Consist.

He controls nature & Providence.
He created the Heavens & the Earth.
In due time put man on it – &
other animals.

Science shows man not eternal
– not so old as the earth –
