In America the popularity and
growth of certain cities seems nor-
-mal, and just what might have been
anticipated. While the neglect of
some cities, not faulty in them-
-selves, and the rush and push of men
and women into other cities, no more
favored by nature, is beyond all ra-
-tional explanation. But it is ob-
-vious that the tendency to dwell
in cities is a strong one, on this con-
-tinent; and one that increases from
year to year, and increases with such
augmentations, that the problem of
City building is one of the problems
of our times which is coming to
