As man can not live by bread
alone, no more can he thrive
on emptiness. Ignorance is not
food for a hungering soul, and
ignoring the paths of knowledge is
truancy, and all shunning of the steeps [steps]
of wisdom is Cowardice. Doubt
solves no problem, and hesitation
stumbles on the threshold. Nega-
-tion bridges no chasm, and hides
itself behind all mystery. Till
we certainly know, and positively af-
-firm, we shall spring no arch, but-
-tressed either way on the immutable, for the per-
-petuity of our being, and for our ever ready
transit into the grandeurs of our
nature.
