Liberty is associated in the preamble to
our "Declaration of Independence", with the
"Pursuit of happiness", as an inalienable
right; Every one, in theory, is free to do
as he pleases, to pursue what he thinks,
his happiness in any way he may choose.

But, for all that, one's freedom is under
limitations and restrictions. He is lim-
-ited by his own abilities, attainments,
tastes, and opportunities. He is limited
by the activities, competitions, plans,
judgments, and conveniences, of
others. And he is limited by convic-
-tions of truth, honor, and righteousness,
as well as by the demands of his
time, and the necessities of human
Society, and the woes of the great world.
