have chosen with large intelligence
and the wish of righteousness, we have
done an act of creation that initiates
a world of blessedness within our
sphere of being, that pushes out also into
the vast realm of all moral activities. Such an
act of creation is not likely ever to
be undone, for, by our constitution, we
lift the primordial act of being
into a kind of precedent, and assign
it a power of perpetuation, and
throne it as the law of conduct,
and bid it dictate and regulate all
the volitions thereafter to arise. And
