2. Men had derided, scoffed, rejected as imposture all he taught.
It was not tested, br'ot [brought] where Jesus w'd [would] have it – to the bar of God
Omnis. [Omniscient] & just – a grand tribunal. Appeal was made to Heaven's august
judge – all so understood it. 3. It was to be conclusive to men's
minds of his rectitude & the justness of his claims. Satan accuses –
if Jesus fail, then is his plan thwarted – Prince of this world triumphs.

III The Verdict. Jesus is adjudged & condemned in the
courts – he expires on the cross as a malefactor; – yet is the verdict
was in his favor – G. [God] vindicated him!! Evidence of this in Pilate,
in Judas, in Scenes of Nature, in Soldiers on guard, in the Fact
of his resurrection – confounding all; All intelligent were convinced of
this fact ~ Few believed the silly story put afloat that he was stolen; ~
and in the History of Jews who took on themselves his blood –
with its woful [woeful] curse – it is still making inquisition upon them.
Enemies have perished, but Jesus lives and reigns!!

IV The results. 1 Satan is overthrown, cast out, trodden down.
His absolute sway has ceased – his head is bruised – his
Kingdom totters to its fall. Jesus says – "I saw Satan falling
as lightening from heaven." He must decrease. Justice
is after him, the Sword of Vengeance shall pierce him.

2. Men have been & are drawn over to Jesus – He is the
Conqueror in the strife. His word is compassing itself ~ he
has been lifted up – he is drawing all men unto him. Slowly
the world is going over to his side. His claims are met
with favor – all praise him – if all do not embrace him.
His plan he is carrying forward – it is to embrace the
whole race of man.
