4th July 1855 Rained verry hard & made the
ground verry wet raised the waters courses
a good deal

Teusday the 9th JUly 1855 Finished cutting oats
it has been raining several times in the
last week our oats is in a bad
condition wet in the shack

25th 26th 27th July Thrashed our wheat
John Lumm thrased it for $24 we sup
pose we have 600 Bu we cleaned up
premium crop it made 38 Bu to one
Acre It has been raining almost every
day since the 4 July & we have not
halled in our oats they are nearly
rotten in the shack

7th Octr Had a killing frost
this morning killed all the pea
vines & corn

12th Dec 1855 Killed 20 hogs to day weighing
3336 lbs average 166 lbs each the Hogs were about
half 18 mo & two years old the others 12 or 13 months
old they did not fatten verry well we have
20 more to kill

31 Dec 1855 Killed 21 hogs weighing 2816 lbs
the most of them less than 1 year old
making at both killings 6152 lbs

Saturday the 5 Jany 1856 Commenced Snowing
at 2 oclock this morning & snowed until
2 this evening & stoped the snow is 12 in
deep which is the deepest snow we have
had since the winter of 1835 Thermometer
at 19 in the morning
