Tuesday the 3rd Feby 1857 clear & warm yesterday &
to day the snow is melting fast

Thursday the 5 Feby 1857 warm yesterday
& to day the snow is all gone but in the
drifts thatis two feet deep in some places
been chopping this week it is said to
be the muddiest time ever seen the roads
are nearly impasable and the fields so wet
we cant walk through them without
miring

Friday the 6 Feby 1857 still warm and
commenced raining at 10 ock to day
farmed all day cleared off cold

Friday the 13th Feby 1857 been quite cold for
the last four days turned warm last night
& rained moderately until noon & stoped

Saturday the 14th Feby 1857 cleared off at noon
to day verry nice weather yesterday & to day
we cleared the manure from the stables and put
it up in pens a layer of manure a layer of
rich earth and a layer of chorcoal dust
alternately but the manure was put the thickest
say the manure 6 in thick the coal dust & rich
earth each about [7?] in thick

Wednesday the 18th Feby 1857 Been fencing
at [?] 3 days got done have 120 Acres
fenced in for sheep pasture& 10 Acres for corn
Been verry warm for four days to day the
Yther was at 83Degrs Commenced gardening
yesterday warm and Spring like weather
the ground nearly dry enough to plow

Thursday the 19th Feby 1857 verry warm & fine
weather Commenced sowing oats today
in the young Orchard starteed Two Turn plow
