Saturday the 10th Oct 1857 worked as yesterday

Monday the 12 Oct 1857 halled manure +
sowed wheat

Wednesday the 14th Oct 1857 finished sowing
the big field in wheat west of the house
sowed 5'[] Bu purple straw wheat [] 60 acres
commenced gathering corn in the afternoon
been cloud for 8 days [] but does not
rain much

Thursday the 15 Oct 1857 rained last night + this
morning verry hard no work done out today
The Davie County Agricultural + mechanical
[] City held its 2nd annual fair at this place to
day took the 2nd premium on wheat [] also on mule
colt horse colt half devon calf the []
[] the best syrup from the chinese sugar
came in all $7 owing to the rainy morning
there was not as many out as usual say 400
person in all

Friday the 16 Oct 1857 too wet to plow or haul
corn thrashed Rye + done other odd jobs

Saturday the 17 Oct 1857 Run 7 plows + sowed
12 Acres in Rye today on land that was in
Rye last year in the old Roberts orchard
sowed 6 Bu [] the 12 Acre

Monday the 19 Oct 1857 gathering corn

Wednesday the 21 Oct 1857 [Killing]
FROST this morning the first we have had to kill vegetation finished gathering
the corn in the field [] of meadow
I think is 730 [b[e]acon] on [30] Acres
