Tuesday the 19 Jany 1858 bought an acre of timber
of [] perry for which I give him a tobacco
barn at arthurs we commenced chopping []
to dry + halling wood [line] cool weather

Wednesday the 20 Jan 1858 choped at perry
6 good, wood [kattle] nice weather

Thursday the 21 Jany choped + [] rails as yesterday
6 loads wood hulled

Friday 22 Jan 1858 choped + halled
5 loads wood from perry
cloudy + cool to dry

Monday the 25 Jany 1858 cut wood that [] + halled
6 load wood at perry, warm + nice

Tuesday the 26 Jany 1858 cut wood split [] []
6 load wood from Berry, verry warm + clear

Wednesday the 28 Jany 1858 commenced plowing
for corn in the Fulford plantation with 2 plows
some frost this morning + commenced raining
about noon but stoped [] hour or so + we went
to chopping
