Friday the 29th Jany 1858 clear + warm halled rails
+ [] rails at perrts we halled 511 rails today

Saturday 30th Jany 1858 some cooler + the wind blows to
day halled wood with two wagons + ox cart

Monday the 1st Feby 1858 rained all day wind
from the northeast quite a [] day worked
in the barn
January was the warmest I have seen for 25
years no cold weather in it not cold enough
to kill hogs for two week at a time no []
during the whole month we have had no cold
weather since november and not many days
then but a great deal of rain during Dec +Jany
not plowed any yet and the ground now too wet
to plow for a week we do want to see it cold
enough to hall ice verry much indeed we fear
we will get no Ice this winter

Tuesday the 2nd day of Feby 1858 clear + warm []
this morning made fence in the mill lane all day

Wednesday the 3rd Feby 1858 made fence all day
a verry fine day for work a little cool in
the evening

Thursday the 4 Feby 1858 turned some cooler last
night + snowed some two or three inches deep
it then st[] a little there 34 not [] cool
enough to snow or sleet much but is snowing
some yet at night snowed again but so warm
it melted nearly as fast as it feel

Friday the 5th Feby 1858 snowed a little + rained
slightly in the morning but cleared away at noon
the snow is not all melted yet cool at night

Saturday the 6 Feby 1858 cool + frosty this morning
ther 22 deg moderate + warm in the afternoon
chopped coal wood in old field towards round hill
