Monday the 1st day of March 1858 well Febuary is gone
and we had no warm weather in it snowed the 12 and
some of the snow is have yet was weather warmer
for the last three days in [illegible] but march sets
in cold rained a light shower last night
done no plowing in Feby and but little of any
kind of work a great deal of rain through
the month kept us from [illegible] and [illegible]
got all our corn in ground to break up yet
all the oars to sow and in fact there is
nothing done towards a crop not even
commened gardening yet
we started to leave here farm plows out the
[illegible] place to day breaking some [illegible]
to plant in corn but the ground is too wet
but we cant wait any longer
this is a rain cloudy cold windy day
The North in the afternoon spit snow some
a verry disagreablle March day

Tuesday the 2nd day of March 1858 very cold this
morning then 19deg [degrees] very cold all day wind blew hard
and froze all day in the shade choped today it was
too cold to do anything else this 19 8 oclock at [illegible]

Wednsday the 3rd day of March 1858 the coldest this morning it
has been this WINTER then at 14 deg at sunrise ice
only half an inch thick [covering?] to the winds blowing hard
all night this 30 at sun down choped coal wood

Thursday the 4th March 1858 still cold then 15 at sun rise
split rails at Perrys hung up our meat and drawn up little
jobs

Friday the 5 march 1858 there 20 wind blowing
and too cold to plow until noon [illegible] [illegible] plow
in afternoon

Saturday the 6th March 1858 these 20 this morning and
we hailed and loads of ice from 1/2 in to 2 in thick
in the evening snowed about 1 1/2 inch [illegible]
