Thursday the 22 April 1858 finished planting the
Fulford field in corn there is about 40 acres in
flat field warm + nice

Friday the 23rd April 1858 finished planting the
cherry orchard field in corn we planted today
3 acres of it in chinese sugar cane seed + 7
acres in corn we planted the sugar cane
seeds in rows 3 ft each way
run 4 plows listing in the born field + our
two house plow breaking up in the lower
end one set of hands planted the corn +
one hand run of the ground for sugar
cane done a big days work in the
evening blew up quite cold

Saturday the 24 Apl 1858 quite a short
frost this morning killed the beans
+ tender vegetation + perhaps some of the
fruit run 6 plows listing the barn
field one 2 horse plow + halled rock
with the oxen to fill up a blend ditch
quite cool all day

Monday the 26 Apl 1858 rained today + stoped
us from work about noon it snowed for
half an hour quite fast very cold rain
+ snow

Tuesday the 27th Apl 1858 cleared away last night
quite cold some frost this morning quite
cold all day planted corn with one set of
hands run two wagons + ox cart halling
manure on the corn hlils + runone
two horse plow breaking up corn land

Wednesday the 28th April 1858
A hard breeze this morning everything
Killed leaves on the trees all dead wheat verry
much injured by the frost Therm 31
