Jim Town meadow to day with 4 hand, the
others halling hay at home ther 96

Thursday the 5 August 1858 finished stacking
the hay at Jim town had a large hack
north $10 chopping out the hickorey timber in
the Later lot to sow in crop seed we
leave the oak truncks standing
election here to day
ther 97 +very dry our
corn is burning up Lost a good group more
today from beating to much wheat in a box in the barn

Friday the 6 August 1858 choped + halled wood from
the Latin lot halled rocks from the pump field
where we intend sowing wheat I waas cleaning
of the rocks so I can cut wheat with a
reaper next year
verry hot ther nearly 98 deg and corn
burning up it is thought I am lousing
in my crop of corn 50 dol a day
never wanted rain more than we do now
garden burnt up never saw vegetation worse
scorched by heat + dry weather

Saturday the 7 August 1858 workered as yesterday
patt gone on a visit (ok so dry + hot)

Monday the 9 Aug 1858 cleaned up wheat
+ chopped still very dry but not so
hot Ther 90

Thursday the 10 Aug 1858 cleaned up the wheat in one
room at the barn ive had 317 Bu in the room
sold 300 in [] at 80 ct owing to the
dry weather it turns out a bad trade
no rain ther 91
