getting verry dry again so dry in the
meadow that it burns the crop where we
are burning [] out warm days
+ coal night ther for several days 87 + 88

Friday the 20th August 1858 workerd as yesterday
verry dry + hot ther 90

Saturday the 21 August 1858 worked as yesterday '
dry dry dry ther 94 no rain

Monday the 23rd August 1858 Dryest
time I ever saw the corn is dying the
crop in fields + pasture drying up
we commenced mowing the 2nd crop
today it is verry short + dried up

Tuesday the 24 Sug 1858 bought a larger
mill of Bayden ive a [] [] for $65
+ commenced making [] today
we made 6 gals from 50 hals of juice
helped athou thrash wheat with []
verry cool and dry

Wednesday the 25 Aug mowed + made
Syrrup

Friday the 27 Aug 1858 Finished mowing
the 2 crop slight shower of rain
today making syrrup + halling []
