Saturday 29 Jany 1859 Cloudy + warm in the
morning so warm the frogs sung all last night
turned some cooler in the evening choped today

Monday 31 Jany 1859 a verry nice day a little cool
in the morning ground froze a little on top made fence
+ sent two wagons with 50 Bu wheat to conrad
mill this ends January we have done verry
little work this month had two cold []
and a great deal of rain not plowed any
nor made much fence and the roads so mudy
we have halled but little

Tuesday 2nd Feby 1859 a verry rainy []
finished cleaning up our last years crop of wheat
we made 792 Bu (all told) of wheat lasy year
more than we will this year I [] for
the wet winter is drowning out our wheat
verry much in the low places

Wednesday 3 Feby 1859 ground verry wet
so we cannot haul wood choped + ditched
cloudy in the afternoon with the wind from
the month looks like it might turn off
clear + cold

Thursday 4 Feby 1859 sharp frosty morning
but moderation in the afternoon made fence

Monday 7th Feby 1859 frosty in the morning but
nice for fencing halled rails finished
the fence on the line between me + Dr Wiseman

Tuesday the 8th Feby 1859 halled 2 load lumber
from Smith [] to make fence rained
in the afternoon + sleeted some ther 32
