Monday 14th March 1859 Raining hard this morning
quite warm yesterday [] nearly summer heat
still warm today continued to rain until
evening it then poured down for about one hour
water [] very high washed our fields verry
much

Tuesday 15th March 1859 cleared off this morning
quite windy wind from the north quite cold
Burnt brush today

Wednesday 16 March 1859 plowed in the new ground
we [burt] off yesterday with 4 plows + halled
off wood with 2 wagons ground too wet to
plow only in the highest rocky places
Peach Blooms full blown [] green and
very thing looks spring like except the plowing
that is not down because its rained since the
3rd of Dec we have plowed but 5 days and
then the ground was too wet
commenced sowing oats in the afternoon in the
fulford fiel dbut it rained + stp[ed us
the first oats + clover seed we sowed in
this field is up verry fine

Thursday the 16th still too wet to plow

Friday the 18th March 1859 too wet to plow
rained all last night scraped manure
in barn lots sent to mill []
in afternoon rained + wind blow verry hard blow
down a great deal of our fence
wind blow verry hard all night quite cold

Saturday 19th March 1859 verry windy + cold today
wind blew hard all day cut stalks + sprouted
the rye

Monday 21 March 1859 finished sowing the fulford
fields in oats + clover seed + commenced in field
by the barn to sow oats ground rather wet
warm + fine weather but cloudy run 8 plows
