Friday 22nd April 1859 cloudy + warm this morning
run one plow planting corn + 3 wagons putting
manure on the corn hills in the house field
sent 12 head of yearlings to germany [pasture]

Saturday 23rd April 1859 the wind blew the
hardest it has for many years all day
blew down our fence blew the young twigs
off the trees done no work out after the
morning quite cold and verry dry

Monday 25th April 1859 halled manure + put
on the corn hills in house field with a wagon

Tuesday 26 Apl 1859 halled manure as yesterday
untill noon then 6 plows went to listing
the new ground + old field along mud road

Wednesday 27 Apl 1859 quite cloudy this morning
rained a light shower at noon not much
got done listing the part of the mud road []
east of the ditch + commenced planting
John [] [] 3 mules today

Thursday 28th April 1859 finished planting
corn in mud road field + commenced listing
that part of the house field that we have
not planted 12 or 15 acres some of it not
broke yet + it is too hard to break so
we turn at the place not broke +
have it

Friday 29th April 1859 warm + cloudy run one plow
planting corn + 3 wagons putting manure in the hills
in the house field
Dan made sweet potatoe ridgeses and planted
two bu irish potatoes we put a one horse
load of hog hair on the potatoes after they
were [] + before we covered them
our sweet potatoes sprouts have been large
enough to set for two weeks but it dont rain
