Saturday 30th April 1859 rained a light shower
this morning set out 1250 sweet potatoe sprouts
and 900 cabbage plants it did not rain enough
to set out plants but we watered them so they
may grow plowed our hard ground in afternoon

Monday 2nd May 1859 finished listing []
field and then went to planting + hauling
manure quite cool slight frost yesterday
morning

Tuesday 3rd May 1859 finished planting corn
except one corner in hill side where we had cow pen + hog
lots that is too dry

Wednesday 4 May 1859 put manure on corn hills
until noon the negroes then planted their corn
patches path too

Thursday 5th May 1859 finished putting manure on
corn hills we manured 50 acres or more in the
hill and about 5 acres bread cast with about
50 loads to the acre
Commenced breaking middle with 4 plows
in the [] field

Friday 6 May 1859 finished [] field + commenced breaking middles in old orchard + replanting
warm + dry

Saturday 7 May 1859 plowed until noon then
all hands replanted corn our corn has
come up verry bad + the crown + birds has
pulled up acres of that that did come up

Monday 9th May 1859 replanted corn until
noon finished replanting the mud road field
run 7 plows in afternoon breaking
middles in mud road field sheared our
sheep today we have 41 old sheep + 7 lambs
we got 74 [] wool
