7 plows breaking middles in mud road field
the other hands replanting corn in house field
verry dry a great deal of the corn dying
+ a great deal not come up + never will
until it rains

Wednesday 11 May 1859 finished breaking
middles in mud road field

Thursday 12 May 1859 run 6 plows breaking middles in lower end of house field
replanted corn

Saturday 14 May 1859 broke middles + planted
peas in house field rained a light shower
in afternoon verry dry corn dying
oats rained wheat injured
planted a patch of corn along the [break]
in house field

Monday 16 May 1859 cloudy this morning
planted peas broke middle until noon
ground so hard we stoped + went to
crop plowing corn in [] field

Tuesday 17th May 1859 plowed in []
field until 9 oclock it then rained
about half a season by noon
ground wet say 3 in deep when it was
soon set out 1500 potatoe sprouts
and about 2500 cabbage plants
rained a [] all day
sowed 1/2 acre in [] Blade Mills [] seed

Wednesday 18th May 1859 plowed up
and planted two acres in corner
in the hog lot by our cow pen
[] the school house place in the
corner of the house field
this is the last corn we will
plant
