Saturday 4 June 1859 3 hands cutting wheat
the ballance hands plowing in [] field finished
that field the 3rd time + [] it
all that field is planted in peas
quite cool + verry dry

Monday 6 June 1859 verry cold yesterday
and today plenty of frost yesterday + this
morning bit the corn blades + potatoe vines
slightly not enough here to injure much
but in the river bottoms the corn is []
a good deal
Finished cutting our red may wheat
today we made 432 Oz on 20 acres
about half a crop will make about
100 Bu the grain is verry good but there
was not enough of it the [] [buy/dry]
and wet winter injured it
verry dry + cold ther 46 at sunrise

Tuesday 7 June 1859 still cold but no
frost commenced mowing yester with
3 hands in the mud road meadow
the [] is verry sorry not half a crop
today we commenced cutting
rye in the fulford field it is
verry good we have about 25 acres
in rye Roth sick today
got the meassles in the family
11 has had it 8 now has it several
of our field hands are yet to have it
dry + cool
Bill James is white washing
the plank fence + negro houses
Henry Foster is putting up plank
fence around the [truck] []

Wednesday 8th June 1859 commenced cutting
purple straw wheat in cassel field with 3 [] paths
[Anda] + Mary sick with messles
warm today + windy verry dry
