Wednesday 14 August 1859 Too wet to plow
until noon the first time our land has
been too wet to plow since the 4th Farm plows
in barn field Bro Heraw got married yesterday
+ Took dinner with us to day

Thursday 25 Aug 1859 ran four Turn plows
finished breaking the barn field
by noon + went to Sowing winter Oats gor
nearly done

Friday 26 August 1859 Run 4 Farm plows
in Fulford field next to perry breaking
up for wheat the other hands Sprouting
+ Holing Turnips we have Two Acres or
mow in Turnips they look verry fine

Saturday 27 Aug 1859 run 4 plows in the same
field rained Sheds around our wide Barn
The barn is 20 ft square the sheds all round
12 ft wide making 44 ft square to hold
corn stalk fodder + plowing the centre 20 ft
square is for the mules to stand in Newry
faster + negro Jack is building it they
have been 4 weeks heaving the timber

Monday 29 Aug 1859 rained Saturday night
+ again all of last night still raining
hard this morning northeart stown
ground thoroughly wet for the first
time since the first of April
too wet to plow for several days
worked in the barn

Tuesday 30 th Aug 1859 made blend detchin
the field kext to mr Perry, until noon
there went to plowind in the same field
ground rather wet
