Monday 28th Jan 1861 cleared off yesterday
ground froze some this morning
choped at Fulford place and ditched
in Cassel pasture
Tuesday 29th Jan 1861 choped 4 ditched
moderate wether plenty of snow on the ground yet
but not verry cold
Friday 1st Feby 1861 been choping + splinggind
at Fulford place got done choping yesterday
we have choped off 1 1/2 or 2 acres in the corner
next to Perry + close by the old school house place
commenced ditching in the same field to
drain two ponds or Basons near the line
between me and buthrell we will have
to make a ditch over three hundred yds to drain
the two basons commenced Raining at
noon to day + rained hard all night
Saturday 2nd Feby 1861 Rained a great deal
last night never sow more water on the
ground continued to rain hard until
night + stloped ground was certainly
never wetter
Monday 4th Feby 1861 Rained all of last
night stoped this morning + broke off cool
not verry cold split rails + wood today
Saturday 9th Feby 1861 1801 been clear + moderately
cool all the week no rain and the ground
got nearly dry enough to ploudh but not quite
we have been makeing fence on the north
end of Fulford place along the fence
between Perry Mat Brack + myself
nearly to Sam Wards line got it to day
we all cut 300 yds ditch in field nether to Perrys
