18th June, 1958.
S.E, Hollis, Esq.,
33, Henry Taylor Court,
Old Ormesby,
Middlesbrough.
Dear Mr, Hollis,
Thank you so much for telephoning me this morning and for
kindly offering to come and see us next week in connection with
our D-Day researches. I have checked on the trains from Darlington
to Kings Cross and I find that the 12.18 from Darlington on Friday
night, 27th June will get you into Kings Cross at 5.35 the following
morning. I am arranging for your ticket and a first-class sleeper
reservation to be sent to you as soon as it is available from the
Railway, so you need not worry about booking a seat, etc.
The trains back to Darlington on Saturday, the 28th June are
as follows:--
Kings Cross arriving Darlington
3.40 - 8.25p.m.
5.40 - 10.39p.m.
7.35 - 12.17a.m.
If you will let me know which train you would like home, I will arrange
a reservation for you from this end.
I have been making enquiries to see if I could get a car to
pick you up at Kings Cross, but it is even too early for our office
driver. I would suggest that you take a taxi, at our expense of course,
straight to Browns Hotel, Albemarle Street, London, W.1., where Mr. Ryan
will be waiting for you with breakfast!
