(f) The Hospital Hospitality Shop at the University in Chapel Hill (profits
here are to be expended by the University Administration for the improvement
of the quality and character of the Hospital).

(g) Refreshment and Program Sales at athletic contests. (For several
decades profits from the sales of these operations have been used to provide grants-
in-aid for students participating in athletics. This practice shall be continued but
the refreshement and program sales shall be conducted by the administration of
the University, and any grants-in-aid made to students participating in athletics
shall be made by the regular Committee on Scholarships and Grants-in-Aid of
the institution concerned. All students receiving these grants-in-aid of the

quired to meet the standards prescribed in Paragraph 4 hereinafter).

(h) Sales of refreshments and programs at the Reynolds Coliseum at State
College. (These profits are pledged to the maintenance fund of the Coliseum.
However, at such time as the Coliseum can be profitably operated without the
inclusion of the profits from refreshments and program sales, profits from sales
of refreshments and programs at athletic contests in the Reynolds Coliseum shall
be devoted to grants-in-aid as provided in sub-paragraph (g) immediately above,
and profits from refreshments and program sales at all non-athletic events in the
Reynolds Coliseum shall be devoted to grants-in-aid as provided in Paragraph 4
hereinafter).

4. Profits from all campus stores, vending machines, and merchandising
activities on the three campuses of the consolidated University (except those speci-
fied in Paragraph 3 above) shall be devoted to grants-in-aid to students selected on
the basis of character, citizenship, leadership, and complete compliance with all
req
requirements, of the institution concerned, pertaining to admission and normal
academic progress.

The administration of each institution, after consultation with the President
of the consolidated University and with his final approval, shall determine each
year the nature, number, and financial value of the grants-in-aid to be awarded
from the campus stores' profits.

All grants-in-aid from campus stores' profits shall be awarded by the regular
Committee on Scholarships and grants-in-aid at each institution.

These Committees on Scholarships and Grants-in-Aid shall consist of faculty
and staff members appointed by the Chancellor of the institution concerned and
after consultation with the President of the consolidated University and with his
final approval.

Recipients of these grants-in-aid shall be notified in writing by the Chancellor
of the institution concerned and the notices shall describe the terms and conditions
of the awards.

Full publicity shall be given to the existence of these grants-in-aid in the catalogue
of the institution concerned, in the student press and in the public press. Also,
complete lists of all grants-in-aid awarded shall be made available to the student
press and to the public press.

5. The President, the Vice Presidents, the Chancellors, and the Business
Managers shall continue their efforts to maintain cooperative relationships between
the campus stores and the privately owned merchandising establishments in Raleigh,
Chapel Hill and Greensboro; and as a tangible evidence of this policy, all campus
stores shall limit their merchandising activities to the sale of articles normally
sold by college and university book-stores throughout the country.

6. No discounts shall be given on any purchase made in any of the three campus
stores of the consolidated University by any student, faculty or staff member, or
any other person.
