I note that on the Register Card the aboriginal's
name for this place was "Toonoogandanni"
meaning "the home of the crows".

Another version is Tamba-goon-damie
meanning "a track on the range"

This track is said to cross the creek at
[Cross nest], and the range.

This name is nearest in pronunciation
& meaning- In the Wakki
language (local) it would be "Dumba
Kunda-mi. from "dumba a beaten
track or path. "Kunda", a mountain
range, and "mi" and inflection
meaning "[?} "at"; The whole phrase
mean, "the track at the Range",
referring to a path were the blacks
used to cross the [Dividing Range]-
Dumba has teh same meaning as
the Yugumbir blacks' "Kulgun" on the
[Teviot Range], near where the Railway
Crosses it
