At a Trustee meeting held May 21st
the committee appointed on collection of
Sefer Torah reported they had collected
ninety-five dollars and further time
granted. It was ordered that a person
be hired to keep the synagogue in
good order, at a salary not to exceed
six dollars a month. It was also ordered
that during the summer season the
days for teaching the children shall
be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays
4 to 6 pm, and from 10 to 12 Saturday
mornings. The Trustees were instructed
to inquire the cost of having a ball and
to report as soon as possible. No further
business on hand the meeting adjourned.

At a Trustee meeting held June 9/60
application was received from Charles Lehman
and Hollower & Rossbach asking to be appointed
butchers for the Congregation B'Nai Israel.
Applications were read, a motion was
made and carried that before any action
should be taken that Mr. Charles Lehman
pay up all claims against him, which
he did. Both applications were discussed,
and ordered that a special meeting be
called by the president of all the members
that they themselves shall elect a butcher.
The meeting was ordered to be called for the
17th of June. It was also ordered by the
Trustees that an advertisement should
be sent to the Gleaner, to advertise for
a competent person to officiate as Chazzan,
Shochet, Teacher and Collector, at a salary
of $900 per year. No further business on
hand. The meeting adjourned.
