Sacramento, August 25th, 1861

A special meeting was called for the purpose
of selling seats for the ensuing holidays.
Presiding J. Benhayon in the chair.
On motion the application of Marquis Levi
was read receiv'd.

On motion of Mr. Levy, Mr. Marquis Levi
was elected a member of this congregation by
acclamation.

Propositions of Mr. Ellis was read and on motion
of Mr. Aronson, the application of Mr. Ellis was
laid on the table.

By the suggestion of the President we proceeded
in the selling of seats after which the meeting
adjourned subject to call of
the President.

A regular meeting of the Board of
Officers was held. D. Kohn Presiding
A set of rules and regulations for our guide was
adopted.

On motion of Mr. Levy it was adopted that all the Mitzvahs
be sold during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

The President was requested to request Rev. M.R. Cohen
not to permit the young ladies to sing in choir, on
Sabbath nor on the coming holidays.

The proposition of Mr. Ellis was taken from the table.
He was duly elected a member of our congregation
subject to the ratification of the next meeting of the cong.

Resignation of Wm. Harris was read, received and accepted.
No further business of the board adjourned.
