Sacramento, October 12, 1864

A special meeting of the board of
officers was held. The president Mr. Elkus
in the chair. The president stated that
application had been made to him by Mr.
C. Lehman for the privilege of having cattle
slaughtered by Mr. Silberstein and selling
Kosher meat. Mr. Dennery moved
to withdraw this privilege from Mr. A. Burns
who had it at present and transfer it to
Mr. Lehman for 3 months. Mr. Franklin
moved to amend by inserting 6 months
instead of three months. The amendment
was accepted by Mr. Dennery and the motion
as amended was adopted. On motion
the Secretary was requested to notify
Messrs. Silberstein, Lehman and Burns of
the action of the board on this matter.
On motion, the meeting adjourned.

the chair. Minutes of meetings of
May 1, May 16, May 24, June 5, Sept.
18, Sept. 28, & Oct. 12, 1864 were read
& approved. Applications of B. Kohn &
I. Lewis for membership were received
and the applicants elected as members
of the congregation. Application of
I. Davidson was received and on motion
