Synagogue Building

Sacramento, January 11, 1868

A semi-annual meeting of the congregation
was held. L. Elkus president in the chair.

The minutes of the preceding meetings
were read and approved.

On motion the present chazzan Mr.
Stamper was reelected for six months.
Term commencing January 1st at the same
salary as received for the last 4 months, 80.00
per month.

On motion of P. Franklin a committee
of three was appointed to consult with
a like committee from the H. B. [Hebrew Benevolent] Society
of this city for the purpose of consolidating
both society into one. The president
appointed Mssrs. P. Franklin, A. Levy
& L. Shawl as said committee.
The secretary was instructed to communicate
the above action to the H.B. Society.

The subject of raising the synagogue
was indefinitely postponed.

On motion the meeting
adjourned.
