Sacramento, July 12, 1868
A quarterly meeting of the Congregation
B'nai Israel was held. President
L. Elkus in the chair.
The minutes of the Annual Meeting
also the minutes of the Board of Officers
were read and approved.
The amendment offered at last meeting
by L. Shawl was read a second time
and on motion was indefinitely postponed.
The committee on incorporation asked for
further time which was granted.
Mr. S. J. Nathan moved that we do not
raise our shul at present which motion prevailed.
Mr. P. Franklin moved that the Board of
Officers be authorized to build a bulkhead
and raise the sidewalk to the high grade;
the motion was adopted.
A proposition was read from B. Alexander
to be reinstated a member of this congregation.
On motion, Mr. Alexander was unanimously elected.
On motion Mr. Stamper was allowed one
month salary for the month of June.
Bill of secretary for 20 was read and ordered paid.
The secretary stated that Mr. Phillip Frank was
in arrears, he owes 31.00. On motion, the
secretary was instructed to notify Mr. Frank
of his arrearage, and that if he does not
pay up within 30 days, to strike him
from the roll of members.
