Sacramento, Sept. 27, 1868

A regular meeting of the board of officers
was held, all present.
L. Elkus presiding.

Proposition for membership was read
from the following named gentleman
and were respectively elected to become
members of this congregation.
L. Lessman, J. Lavison & Wm. Price.

On motion the president was authorized
to settle the bill for cleaning and firewood
at the Franklin School house.

Mr B. Dennery moved that the board of
offcers recommend to the congregation the
election of Mr. Lowenthal as Chazzan,
Shochet and teacher. The motion was
carried unanimously.

S. Zekind offered the following resolutions
to be considered by the board and recommended
to the congregation their adoption
which was agreed upon unanimously.

Resolved, that the following be the standing
rules of our congregation for the government
of our school until otherwise ordered by the
congregation.

Rule 1. Each member of this congregation
be entitled to send one child to our Hebrew
school free of charge.

Rule 2. Any member of this congregation who
sends more than one child to school shall
pay the sum of 50 cents per month for each child over one.
