Synagogue, May 29th, 1870

The annual meeting of the Congregation
B'nai Isral was held 2 o'clock P.M.
President L. Elkus presiding.

The minutes of the last regular meeting
also of several officers meetings were
read and approved.

The president made a verbal report of
the condition of the congregation,

The annual report of the secretary was
read, received, and referred to the Board
of Officers.

The treasurers report was read and
referred to the Board of Officers.

A communication was read from the secretary
of the Board of Delegates of American Israelites
asking this congregation to send delegates
to their convention to be held in New York City.
On motion the same was received and
placed on file.

The school commissioner made a verbal
report which was accepted.

Mr. J. Davis moved that a committee of
three (3) be appointed to devise some plan
to raise money to liquidate the debt of the
congregation and report in 2 weeks
when the president shall call a special
meeting for the purpose of considering
the report of said committee. The motion
was carried.

The president appointed Messrs. J. Davis,
J. Levison, and M. Wilson said committee.
On motion the preseident was added to the committee.
