Minutes of May 21st continued
The Secretary reported that he received
from Etham Lodge No. 37 I.O.B.B.
the sum of one hundred & two 25/100 dollars
being the net proceeds from a picnic
given by said Lodge for the benefit of
this congregation.
On motion Mr. S. Schreiber was
appointed a committee of one to
write a letter of thanks to the above
named Lodge, the Secretary having
declined attending to that duty, giving
his reason that he is President of
said Lodge.
Mr. G. Haines offered the following
motion: that a committee of three
be appointed whose duty it shall be
to endeavor to find a suitable place
for a burial ground for this congregation.
Mr. Schreiber offered an amendment
that said committee shall if possible
negotiate with the Hebrew Benevolent
Society of this City concerning the burial
ground of said Society.
After lengthy debate the motion was
carried as amended.
Messrs. G. Haines, S. Schreiber, and J. Levison
were appointed said committee.
On motion the committee was instructed
to report to the President within 2 months,
the President shall immediately call a
meeting of the congregation for the
purpose of considering said report.
Messrs. S. Schreiber, (J. Rothfeld), A. Goodman
M. Sternfels
were considered duly elected members of
this Congregation.
