Sacramento, December 12, 1875

A special meeting of the Board of
Officers was called by the President
according to a petition signed by
the requisite number of members.
The meeting was called to order by
the President L. Elkus who stated
that there was a complaint made
against the Kosher butcher.
The complainant and defendent were
notified and were present.

The following gentlemen were
heard. Mr. Friedman, Mr. Hyman,
Mr. Joseph in behalf of the complainant.

And Mr. S. Moose in behalf of
defendant. After the Board of
Officers have heard both the complainant
and the defendant
a motion was made by G. Haines
and carried that S. Moose be discharged
and a new butcher be employed.

Applications were read from
McCall & Peltier to furnish meat
of all kinds at 10 cents per pound and
veal 12 1/2. Also petition from J.W. Wilson
to furnish at the same prices.

The Board of Officers took a vote
on the 2 applications and the
result was in favor of
McCall & Peltier. The president
declared them duly elected
butchers for the congregation.

Mr. G. Haines made a motion the
Secretary shall notify the butchers of their
election and that they shall furnish meat
to Rev. H. Loewenthal free of charge.

No further business meeting adourned.
