Vacation periods are arranged between the teacher and the manage-
ment.
On motion of Mr. R. L. Flowers, seconded by Mr. N. C. New-
bold, Dr. J. E. Shepard was elected principal of the Durham State
Normal School for Negroes at a salary on the basis of $2500.00 a
year beginning September 1, 1923, ending June 30th, 1924.
Upon the election of Dr. J. E. Shepard, who was present,
he accepted the election as principal of the Durham State Normal
School for Negroes at the salaary stated beginning September 1,
1923, and ending June 30th, 1924.
On motion of Mr. N. C. Newbold, seconded by Mr. R. L.
Flowers, the following budget was adopted:
