Dear Sir. I have a small building at Palo Alto Station, expecting later to build a home and give my children an opportunity to enjoy the privilege of the University. Part of the passenger trains stop here - but there is no good way to get in or out.

I have been informed that there will be an Avenue direct to the University from this station, but suppose it will not be completed for several months. In the meantime parties owning property in University Park (myself included) desire to be making some improvements and I write to ask you, if arrangements can and will be made, whereby we can have a temporary road, then we could reasonably ask for a Crossing, and those interested could get here and improvements would soon begin. I do not suppose the road would need any grading, but simply a "Right of Way" through (probably 200 or 300 yards) though a temporary fence might be needed. If you will see that this piece of road is opened you will receive the sincere thanks of myself and others.
