Dear Sir:
While in Washington last spring I spoke to you regarding an Industrial Museum in connection with the Leland Stanford Jr. University, and left with you some notes in connection therewith. At your suggestion made a few days since, I now would outline generally the plan and scope of such an exhibition.
The museum should be a part of the University and at all times be accessible to students and to the general public under proper conditions. Such a museum as I suggest would not only be of great value to students but to the general public as well.
The foundation idea of the museum should be popular education - the enlightenment
