Napa Cal. Nov 28th 1885
The following resolutions were adopted by Napa Parlor No 62 of the Native Sons of the Golden West last Monday evening Nov. 23rd.
Whereas, Senator and Mrs. Leland Stanford have munificently dedicated to the use and benefit of the citizens of the State of California certain valuable property for the endowment of an institution to be known as "The Leland Stanford Junior University", and,
Whereas, Said dedication will prove of vast importance and benefit to this State and will be handed down to California posterity as an inestimable treasure in the various paths of learning, and,
Whereas, The Native Sons of the Golden West as Californians take pride in the every advancement of their native State; therefore be it
Resolved by Napa Parlor No 62 of the Native Sons of the Golden West that we tender our thanks to Senator Leland Stanford and his wife for their generous gift, and that a copy of these resolutions be engrossed and forwarded to Senator and Mrs. Stanford.
