I have been thinking that
possibly electricity would
be good for you a Gentleman
tells me that his nerves
were badly upset and
he could not sleep but
by the use of electricity he
was completley restored to
health. I hope you will
receive so much benefit by the
mountain climate that
you will [need?] nothing
on your return.

The climate at Palo
Alto is delicious and to day
I have remained at the
house all day. Sittng on
the Piazza I [miss?] the little
birds [?] one yet seen
at the fountains. I notice
some in the grounds that
used to visit the fountains
and their avoidance is
a mystery that will en-
gage my thoughts as often
as I look at the fountains
