I think such a road ought to
be of great commercial value as
it would pass through a rich
agricultural country partially
settled and would offer the
shortest quickest route between
Europe and the great heart of
Asia for the social and commercial
business of the principal countries
of both continents

of course such a Road would
complete successfully for passengers
and I think a very large portion of
the freight is of such a valuable
character that it would seek the
most expeditions route in preference
to the slower one of less cost
