wonder at the sorrow that I felt for
you when I read abote [sic] your own dear boy
how you both must have loved him com-
ing as he did to brighten your home after
waiting for his coming for so many
years I have some idea what your feeling[s]
were when you both saw him passing
away from you, but I was so glad
to learn that you were able to find
comfort in ^ him who will never forsakes [sic]
us if it had not been for the
knowledge that it was a kind
loving father that was dealing
with me & that it was the good
sheapard [sic] that took the little
lambs in his loving arms to
a home where I shall go some
day my heart would have been
broken for I did want to keep
my little boys so very much so
my dear Mrs Stanford you know
now why I felt so sorry for you
in the time past & that I share
your present sorrow in your lonely-
ness [sic] with both of your dearest ones
[cone? gone] but what a great consolation it
