It is a comfort
for us to feel that
the "Comforts of God"
are "not small
with thee" and
that you know and
believe what the
Saviour did for
him, and that the
happiness which is
his today is to you
a reality and
a conviction.

We wish we were
with you to mourn
at your side. What
a loss to the Nation!
What a loss to
California! But what
a gain to him!
