Dear Mrs Stanford

Mr Wohlfahrt on the 7th just has
written in your behalf asking for a
statement of account up to date, which
I hasten to enclose. The amount which
Mr {Therbette ?} Kane {?} paid here for
your account on the 25th April amounted to
F 22990 corresponding to Italian Life 23220,
& not F 24400 as Mr Wohlfahrt shares in
his letter.

In the enclosed statement you will see
L 400 paid to lawyer; this account was L 442
but he has taken off something at last.

You will perceive also L {04.90 ?} for
a telegram! This was sent to Mr Knowland
to advise him of the departure of the cases
from Leghorn & { steamer ?}, so that he
might pursue in time if necessary.
