My dear Mrs Stanford:
I beg to acknowledge
gratefully your kindness
in sending me a pass over
your railroad - the Southern
Pacific. I have not heard
anything recently as to the
Government suit; but I express
a hope that things are
progressing favorably, and
that you will soon be
relieved of that embarrassment,
and in a position to do
all that your generosity
has contemplated for
Stanford University.
