is intended to be the notice contemplated by Section 1187 of the
Code of Civil Procedure of the State of California, where there
has been cessation of labor upon an unfinished contract.

CHARLES G. LATHROP, being first duly sworn, says:
That he is the Attorney-in-fact of Jane L. Stanford and the
Business Manager for her and the Trustees of the Leland Stanford
Junior University, owners of the property described and referred
in the foregoing notice; that he has read said notice and knows
the contents thereof and that the same is true of his own know-
ledge; that he makes this affidavit for and on behalf of said
Jane L. Stanford and said Trustees.
