To the Public Greeting, -

As an expression of just appreciation of the life and gracious memory,
of California's greatest benefactor, Senator Leland Stanford:-

We the people, of Boulder Creek, Santa Clara Coumty, State of
California, and many others, do hereby inaugerate and subscribe, the
following sums; to the Stanford Memorial Library & Publiv Reading-room -
the same, located and established in said Town, County, and State.

An elegant building for the above purpose is in course of
construction and rapidly nearing completion. Property will be held by
local corporation of ladies and devoted to the enlightenment and good
of the general public.-
