At a regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of
Santa Clara County, held March 20th, 1905, the following
resolution was unanimously adopted.

"WHEREAS--Mrs. Jane L. Stanford has been removed by death from her earthly labors, by reason of which sad event Santa Clara County
has lost one of its most munificent benefactors, therefore

RESOLVED--That this Board, for itself and for the people of Santa
Clara County, hereby expresses its regret for the sorrowful occurrence, and in common with the people of the State and Nation,
mourns a loss which is irremediable, and that this Board attend the
funeral in a body."
